THE OPPORTUNITY
From handloom heritage to technical textiles
Bengal holds both ends of the textile spectrum — GI-tagged handloom traditions in Santipur, Baluchar and Dhaniakhali, and industrial hosiery and garmenting clusters around Kolkata and Howrah. The state is investing in the middle: processing, finishing and technical textiles, the stages where value currently leaves the state and returns as finished goods.
INCENTIVES & POLICY

Up to 40% on eligible fixed capital investment, tiered by district category.
State GST reimbursement
Net State GST reimbursed for ten years from commercial production.
