Bengal is pursuing solar on two fronts at once — deployment across rooftops, water bodies and utility-scale sites, and manufacturing of modules and cells to serve the eastern and north-eastern market. Floating solar on the state's extensive reservoir and water-body network is a particular opportunity, avoiding the land acquisition friction that constrains projects elsewhere.
