THE OPPORTUNITY
Every district has something to sell
West Bengal's ODOP initiative has identified 58 products across all 23 districts, from Baluchari silk and Darjeeling tea to Dokra metalcraft and Gobindobhog rice. Many carry GI tags; more qualify but have never applied. The programme moves these products from local visibility to organised market access through branding, packaging, e-commerce onboarding and structured buyer-seller meets.

Capital investment subsidy
Up to 40% on eligible fixed capital investment, tiered by district category.
State GST reimbursement
Net State GST reimbursed for ten years from commercial production.
GI documentation support
Assistance with product identification, documentation and GI application.
Branding & market access
Packaging design, e-commerce onboarding and buyer connect support.
