THE OPPORTUNITY
India's larder, barely processed
Bengal is the country's largest producer of rice and fish, second in potato and vegetables, and a major producer of mango, litchi and pineapple. Almost all of it leaves the state raw. Twelve food parks with cold chain, common processing and testing infrastructure are the state's attempt to change where value is captured — with ODOP linkage bringing district-level producers directly into the supply chain.

Up to 40% on eligible fixed capital investment, tiered by district category.
State GST reimbursement
Net State GST reimbursed for ten years from commercial production.
Food park incentive
Capital support for processing units inside notified food parks.
Cold chain & FPO linkage
Subsidy on cold chain plus structured sourcing from farmer producer organisations.
